How do you properly dispose of oil in your home?
When you use oil in your home for frying french fries, chicken, shrimp, etc., after using the same supply of the cooking oil for so many times, you have to dispose of it. Whats a safe way to do so? I know most people just pour their oil down their drain, but i hear that’s not safe and pretty soon your drain will get clogged up. So whats the easiest & safest way to dispose of regular oil/frying grease in your home other than just pouring it down your drain?
I buy vegetable oil in the plastic jugs. After using, I put a Mr. Coffee filter in a strainer and pour the oil through it. I then put the oil back in the jug. When it gets too used, I dump the oil back into the jug and toss. (Always let the oil cool before pouring into the jug.) I don’t feel right about oil in glass jars. Glass can break. At least when it’s in a plastic, it won’t break open and contaminate.
